2011 Paint Swap Program
IMPORTANT!! PAINT SWAP PROGRAM CHANGE

Unfortunately, too much unusable paint as well as hazardous waste has been coming in to the paint swap shed on Wednesdays & Saturdays, and our staff has been overwhelmed trying to deal with incoming materials.

The purpose of the paint swap program is for residents to be able to bring in useable paint for other residents to take.  It is not a drop-off for paint cans which have a small amount of paint left, or previously frozen paint, or paint in unreadable cans.  Most especially it is not a drop-off for hazardous wastes.

Therefore, in future, paint collections will occur only on the first Saturday of the month during the collection season (typically May-October). At all other times, paint products will not be received at the Recycling Center, and the paint shed will be locked. Our staff will screen all incoming paints on those two days for quality, and instructions will be available to residents on how to deal with unacceptable paint and paint products as well as hazardous materials.

The 2011 paint swap program will begin on Saturday, May 7th, and the shed will be open on the following months as follows:

June 4th
July 2nd
August 6th
September 3rd
October 1st
October 15th

and will end on October 15th.  No paint products will be accepted at any other times.

Unusable paints may be brought to the hazardous waste collections on June 25th and November 5th; pre-registration required.

Please refer to the Paint Swap Program Guidelines and Paint Sorting Table for more information about this program.
