Upcoming Events/News


Spray Park: The spray park will be open June 20th - September 2nd. Hours of operation will be 10am - 8pm daily.

Fireworks:  The South Hadley Fireworks will be held Wednesday, July 3 at the Michael E. Smith Middle School.  Festivities begin at 6pm and the fireworks will commenece at 9:30pm.  The raindate is Friday, July 5.  The event is sponsored by PeoplesBank.

Summer Concert Series: Free concerts at the Town Common Gazebo. Rts 47 & 116. Thursday evenings 630pm -8pm. First concert is June 28th! Click here to see a list of dates and performers! We hope to see you there!

Falls Fest:  FallsFest is a free, day-long festival bringing together outstanding regional musical talent, sumptuous local cuisine and scintillating crafts from local artists and artisans – all made possible by the generous support of the business and nonprofit community.   Sample the culinary offerings of South Hadley’s many restaurants, enjoy a cold beverage, wander by the artisan and business tents, have fun with the many activities for children and adults alike – or simply relax on your blanket or lawn chair and take it all in.  Nestled on the eastern bank of the Connecticut River in historic South Hadley Falls, Beachgrounds Park is the perfect venue and FallsFest is the perfect way to enjoy a beautiful summer Saturday in western Massachusetts! 

Thanks to the generosity of our many sponsors and a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, there is no admission charge for FallsFest, however a food donation for the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Pantry will be gratefully accepted!  Click here for more information.

Recreation Department Survey:  The Recreation Commission/Department are currently reviewing their policies and programs and are seeking input from the community; we are going to use the results of this survey to assist us with this review. The link to the survey can be found by clicking here.

Fall Sports/Information


active icon.jpg  Click the orange button for a link to our online registration page. Registrations are also accepted in our office by check/cash Monday-Friday from 8:45am - 4:30pm and the following Monday nights from 6-8pm (June 3, 10, 17, 24 and July 1).  

Tackle Football - Grades 3-8:  Registrations for our tackle football program for children going into grades 3-8 begin Monday, June 3 and closed Monday, July 1.  Resigtrations can be made online by clicking the registration link (ability to pay with a credit/debit card, paperwork must still be filled out) or in our office.  Click here for the parent guide and click here for the registration packet.  Those signing up online must still fill out the registration packet at mail that to the office.

Youth Rec Soccer (K-6) and Flag Football (K-2):  Registrations for our K-2 Tackle football and a Recreation level soccer programs begin Monday, June 3 and closed Monday, July 1.  Resigtrations can be made online by clicking the registration link or in our office.  All first time players must provide a copy of their birth certificate prior to the start of the season.  Click here for additional information.  

PVJSL Soccer Registrations:  Registration for PVJSL Travel Fall Soccer have closed, we will continue to accept registrations until our rosters are full.  South Hadley will offer travel teams for children entering grades 3 – 8 next fall and the cost is $75 per player.  Click here for additional information.  Registrations in our office or online by clicking the orange link above.

Fall Cheerleading Registrations:  Registrations for our cheerleading programs for girls entering grades 3-8 have closed, we will continue to accept registrations until our rosters are full.  The cost is $40 per participant and registrations are limited so please register early!  The girls will cheer at the youth football game and annual exhibition.  Click here for additional information.  Registrations in our office or online by clicking the orange link above.





Bus Trips



Red Sox Tickets at Fenway Park: Join us on our bus trips to historic Fenway Park to see the Red Sox play this summer.  We have trips on Saturday, June 8 versus the Angels and Monday, September 2nd versus the Tigers.  The cost to attend is $85 for residents/$90 for non-residents and includes a game ticket (right field box) and motor coach transportation.  Tickets can be purchased at our office or by mailing in the registration form with a check. 

Red Sox Trip to Toronto, Canada:  Join us on our annual summer baseball trip to Toronto Canada for Red Sox/Blue Jays baseball games.  The trip includes three nights stay at the Fairmont Royal York, a visit to Niagara Falls and great tickets to the games.  Click here for information about the trip.  
  
Yankee Stadium Trip:  The Recreation Department is going to the New Yankee stadium on Thursday, July 11 for a 1pm game.  The Yankees play the Kansas City Royals and seats are in section 132.  The cost is $75 for residents and $80 for non-residents.  Bus leaves South Hadley High School at 8:30am which gives you a little time to explore the stadium before the game!  Click here for more information.

Adult Fitness Classes:

Tanya Gets You Fit Classes: The South Hadley Recreation Department and certified personal trainer Tanya Ryan have teamed up to offer the following fun and dynamic group exercise programs: Boot Camp, Cardio Kickboxing, Core Power, Pilates, Total Body Blast and Zumba.  All classes are held in the South Hadley Town Hall Auditorium.   Click here for additional information and registration forms regarding these classes.

Aquacise Classes:  Join our water aerobics class that meets on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:30-8:30pm at the Michael E. Smith Pool.  Click here for more information about the program.
