Surveillance Camera Registry Program

SOUTH HADLEY POLICE SURVEILLANCE CAMERA REGISTRY

The South Hadley Police Department is seeking your help in fighting crime by taking part in the South Hadley Camera Registry and Monitoring (SCRAM). The SCRAM allows residents and business owners to register the locations of their video surveillance systems with the South Hadley Police Department. At no time do we have "access" to your cameras, nor could we monitor your camera. This program allows the police department to quickly identify addresses and locations within the community, in the area of a crime, where cameras may be located. When a crime occurs, police will be able to identify the locations of nearby cameras and enlist the assistance of the community to help officers collect video evidence and follow up on leads. With this program, the South Hadley Police Department will be able to directly contact SCRAM members that are using video surveillance in an area in which a crime occurred. Police would ask SCRAM members to check their video footage for a specific date and time that may show activity involved with a crime, such as a getaway car or the direction that a person of interest traveled.  See our FAQ section for more information.

Please read the SCRAM Description and Terms of Use Policy:
AT not time do we have ACCESS to your cameras. Registration is voluntary and there is no cost associated with registration. Registering your camera does not provide the South Hadley Police Department with direct access to your camera. You may opt out of the registration at any time by emailing Officer Kelsey Davey. An individual’s personal information will be kept confidential by the South Hadley Police Department. You will only be contacted by the South Hadley Police Department if there is a criminal incident in the vicinity of your security camera. Police personnel, if necessary, may request a copy of any video captured by your camera, which may assist in the investigation of a crime.

Terms of Use:
The goal of the program is to deter crime and promote public safety through collaboration between the South Hadley Police Department and the residents and businesses we are sworn to protect.

Accordingly, all registered members agree to the following terms and conditions: Any footage containing or related to criminal activity may be collected by the South Hadley Police Department for use as evidence during any stage of a criminal proceeding. Under no circumstance shall registered members construe that they are acting as an agent and/or employee of the Town of South Hadley and/or the South Hadley Police Department through the program. If necessary, the South Hadley Police Department will contact you directly, using information provided by you, to request the appropriate video surveillance footage. By submitting this information, the registered member understands and agrees to the above policy and terms of use.

Thank you for your consideration. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Officer Kelsey Davey at (413) 530-5050 ext. 402 or email.
