Direct Debit

The Collector's Office is pleased to announce an easier way to sign up for direct debit - AutoPay. Now you can sign up online through the Invoice Cloud system by by registering your account on their website. If you have already signed up to have payments withdrawn automatically from your checking or savings account, this information will be available in your new online account.

How AutoPay Works

You authorize regularly scheduled payments to be made from your checking or savings account. Then, just sit back and relax. You will receive an email notification when your bill is available online and the payment will be made automatically on the specified day. Proof of your payment will be available in your online account as well as appearing on your bank statement. You may cancel participation in AutoPay at any time by updating your online bill pay account.

As an AutoPay user, you will be invited to sign up for paperless billing. But you can elect to still receive paper bills which are sent on the same schedule as bills sent to all taxpayers. As is currently the case, payment will be due 30 days from the date the bill is issued. On the date payment is due; the required amount will be automatically debited from the bank account authorized by the taxpayer. The account may be at any bank which participates in the automated clearinghouse system; this includes over 90% of all banks in the nation. Property owners whose taxes are included in their mortgage cannot participate in this program for real estate tax payments.

There is no additional charge from the town for this service, however, you should check with your financial institution to determine what charges, if any, it may have. The electronic check / ACH convenience fee is $0.40 per transaction.

Online Through Your Bank

Please be advised that when paying online through your bank a check is actually cut and sent to the Collector's Office. There is a lapse time associated with this process that could result in a late payment. Please be sure to use correct information when making your payment such as the bill number for the current fiscal year, a map and parcel, or account number.
