What You Should Know

  • All bills are based on a fiscal year, which runs from July 31 to June 30
  • By law, bills are assessed to the owner of record as of Jan. 1. If a property is purchased after Jan. 1 the bill will remain in the previous owners name until the following January 1. New owners should contact the collector's office if they do not receive a bill on schedule.
  • Legally bills must be mailed to the homeowner. Banks or mortgage companies can contact us for amounts due on real estate.
  • The Assessor's Office is responsible for all changes to real estate and personal property bills, name changes, abatements, etc.
