CANCELLED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER: Bike-Walk Committee Offers Special Maple Syrup Trek Feb 24th
Sunday, February 24, 2019
This outing is especially suited for families and friends!
Proprietor Maurice LaFlamme will lead the public on a very short and relatively flat walk to the maple trees at the back of his property to see how the tree sap is collected to be later transformed into maple syrup. This is a rare chance to also safely view the adjacent, small LeBlanc Conservation Area which is a protected area for wetland and wildlife habitat and refuge. The conservation area does not contain trails and is intentionally left overgrown and unnavigable. Mr. LaFlamme will also explain how his equipment turns the collected sap into maple syrup.
Post-trek, please join BWC members and Mr. LaFlamme for light refreshments and socializing!
Non-enjoyable or hazardous inclement weather/conditions will force a cancellation; if that should appear necessary, please check the Town’s website (www.southhadley.org) for a Community News notification.
