Guided Public Trek at Black Stevens Conservation Area

The South Hadley Bike-Walk Committee will be hosting a guided trek on Saturday, September 23 at 10am. The trek should last around an hour and will be 1.75 miles long. There are some uphill portions to start the trek, as well as some raised roots along the way. Black Stevens is the conservation area between the High School and Plains Schools, and is a very popular place to walk. Bike-Walk Committee member Jim Buckley will be the trek host and anyone can attend!
The trek will start from the parking lot in front of South Hadley High School at 153 Newton Street near the Black Stevens Pond. Attendees should bring water, wear long sleeved shirts/pants due to mosquitoes/ticks and are encouraged to have some bug spray.
A decision to cancel because of inclement weather will be made by 3pm on Friday, September 22nd, and if we cancel, will be posted on the Town Website, the Recreation Department website and the Recreation Department's Facebook page.
