Eversource Transmission Work at Bachelor - Stony Brook Conservation Area

River-to-Range Utility Work

Starting in late May and finishing by the end of July, Eversource will be replacing structures with steel structures of similar size and adding additional communication wire on existing structures in the area of the northern section of South Hadley’s Bachelor- Stony Brooks Conservation Area - River to Range Trails.

Access for Eversource crews and contractors will be from 316 Hadley St/Rte 47. As the gravel access road crosses onto South Hadley Conservation Commission property, signage will be placed along the yellow line areas to alert hikers/walkers to the construction zone and access road where crews will be transporting and using large equipment. Additionally, orange snow fencing and signage will be placed around the gravel workpad to safely route hikers/walkers around the west and north sides of the main work area and back to the eastern tree line where the trail departs from the right-of-way.

Spotters will be on-site to provide additional direction to hikers/walkers during times when large equipment moves into and out of the areas where signage is in place.

Construction will take place periodically this fall and winter with full restoration to follow in spring of 2023. Work hours will be Monday to Saturday from 7am to 7pm.
