Nomination Procedures:
Nomination papers are available in the Town Clerk's Office at Town Hall (116 Main St, South Hadley, MA) beginning the first week of December for the offices listed below. The Annual Town Election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
- Candidates must be 18 years old or older and a registered voter in South Hadley.
- Town-wide candidates need to obtain 50 certified signatures.
- Town meeting candidates need to obtain 10 signatures from their precinct.
- Candidates are encouraged to obtain additional signatures. All signatures must be returned to the Town Clerk's Office for certification. If the candidate does not obtain the correct amount of signatures, they cannot appear on the ballot.
Important Deadlines:
- First day to obtain nomination papers: Monday, December 2, 2024
- Last day to obtain nomination Papers: Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 5 p.m.
- Last day to submit nomination papers to the Clerk's office: Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 5 p.m.

- School Committee (1) - Three Year Term
- School Committee (1) - One Year Term
- Board of Health (2) - Three Year Term
- Municipal Light Board (2) - Three Year Term
- Municipal Light Board (1) - Two Year Term
- Board of Assessors (1) - Three Year Term
- Housing Authority (1) - Five Year Term
- Trustee Free Public Library (3) - Three Year Term
- Planning Board (1) - Three Year Term
- Town Meeting Member (8 per precinct) - Three Year Term
- Town Meeting Member (1 - Precinct A, 2 - Precinct C) - Two Year Term
- Town Meeting Member (1 - Precinct A) - One Year Term
- *Charter Commission (9) - Approximately 2 Year Term
*The Charter Commission positions may not appear on the ballot, depending on whether or not the question receives enough signatures from South Hadley voters to be placed on the ballot.
