Eversource will be using a low-flying helicopter for tree trimming and hazardous tree removal across western Massachusetts beginning this week.
According to a news release sent to 22News, Eversourse pilots are using rotating blades and a helicopter to trim tree limbs from the sides of a power line corridor. An effort is being made to help reduce service interruption for thousands of customers.
The aircraft being used is red, silver, and black with tail number N107SF. It helps in reducing the amount of time it takes climbing crews to conduct the work manually and reduces the risk of injury to tree crews.
Tree trimming will be conducted between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. through April 6th in the following locations:

- Allen St.
Wilbraham:
