The public is invited to celebrate by touring the museum in the Old Firehouse, viewing exhibits from South Hadley's past, and of course enjoying a piece of birthday cake. There will even be music from a genuine Victrola! Visitors may sign the birthday card which will be saved in the museum's archives.
The museum will be open from 1:30-4 p.m. with cake served at 2 p.m. This event is free and open to all ages. Donations are gratefully accepted.
Built in 1889, the Old Firehouse once served the town of South Hadley as a working firehouse and as the site of some town offices. Since 1976, the Old Firehouse has been a museum filled with artifacts, exhibits, and documents that preserve the history of South Hadley. The beautiful red and gray firehouse is one of South Hadley's finest architectural treasures.
The Old Firehouse is located at 4 North Main St.
