[ARCHIVED] BOOK IT 5K Race & 2M Walk to benefit the South Hadley Public Library

The 4th annual Friend’s of South Hadley Public Library 5K Road Race and 2M Fitness Walk will take place at 9am Saturday October 24, beginning and ending at the Public Library, 2 Canal Street. Advance registration is recommended, but same day on-site registration will be available beginning at 8am. The beneficiary will be the summer reading program. There are three age levels in the program: children, teens, and adults. Studies indicate that summer reading has positive effects on children’s literacy skills that continue during the school year. Adults are able to improve their lifelong learning skills through reading and also connect with others in the community. Registration for individuals over age is $25. No registration fee for children age 13 and under, but if a child t-shirt is desired, the fee is $10 to cover costs. Age 14 and over registrants qualify for a free BookIt t-shirt.
