Each of the ten trash routes will receive one tree pickup during these two weeks, on the same day as trash and recycling collection. Trees must be stripped bare, with no metal, plastic bags or decorations as these trees are ground for composting. Wreaths and garlands contain metal wire and are therefore not allowed in this collection, nor in the compost area. (Metal jams the grinding equipment) The compost area remains open year round every Wednesday and Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm, the same hours as the recycling center. The Martin Luther King Holiday on Monday January 18th DOES NOT affect curbside collection, it will be a normal week. For questions please call the DPW at 538-5033.
