[ARCHIVED] Update on Ebola Virus Disease Outbreak in Uganda

ebola

As follow up to the ongoing outbreak of Ebola virus disease (EVD) in Uganda caused by Sudan virus, there are currently no suspect or confirmed cases of EVD in the United States. Due to the increase in cases in Uganda, ongoing monitoring and surveillance will continue. As of November 5, 2022 a total of 132 confirmed cases of EVD have been identified in Uganda within seven districts of the country. As of October 7, 2022, direct flights from Uganda to the United States have stopped. An extensive health check and screening are conducted to those who have been to Uganda within the last 21 days to reduce the risk of transmission and spread of EVD. If an EVD case is suspected, the patient should be isolated in a healthcare facility to prevent transmission and the necessary contacts should be notified.
