Nomination Procedures:
Nomination papers are now available in the Town Clerk's Office at Town Hall (116 Main St, South Hadley, MA) for the offices listed below.
- Candidates must be 18 years old or older and a registered voter in South Hadley.
- Town-wide candidates need to obtain 50 certified signatures.
- Town meeting candidates need to obtain 10 signatures from their precinct.
Candidates are encouraged to get additional signatures. All signatures must be returned to the Town Clerk's Office for certification. If the candidate fails to get the correct number of signatures, they will not appear on the ballot.

Important Deadlines:
- First day to obtain nomination papers: Monday, December 8, 2025
- Last day to obtain nomination Papers: Friday, February 20, 2026, at 5 p.m.
- Last day to submit nomination papers to the Clerk's office: Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 5 p.m.
- Annual Town Election: Tuesday, April 14, 2026

- School Committee - Two Seats - Three-Year Term
- Board of Health - Two Seats - Three-Year Term
- Municipal Light Board - One Seat - Three-Year Term

- Housing Authority - One Seat - Five-Year Term
- Trustee Free Public Library - Three Seats - Three-Year Term
- *Trustee Free Public Library - One Seat - One-Year Term
- Planning Board - Two Seats - Three-Year Term
- Town Meeting Member - Eight Seats per precinct - Three-Year Term
- Town Meeting Member - One Seat, Precinct B - Two-Year Term
- Town Meeting Member - One Seat Precinct B, One Seat Precinct C - One-Year Term

Nomination papers will be available Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, and Friday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. The Town Clerk's office may be available outside of regular office hours by appointment. Any closings or changes in hours will be posted to the Clerk's webpage: www.southhadley.org/clerk.
