[ARCHIVED] Compost Area Reopening June 2nd by appointment only

Compost Area Enterance

The compost area at the landfill will reopen June 2 by appointment only, with some changes implemented to maintain social distancing directives.

Residents looking to drop off brush and leaves, or pick up compost, are required to schedule an appointment here.  The hours operation will be Tuesday – Saturday from 8:00 AM- 11:55AM and 1:00 PM-2:55 PM. Trash stickers are required for use of this area. These must be affixed to the vehicle in which residents are traveling to the compost area, and the plate number on the sticker must match the license plate of the vehicle delivering the brush. We ask that all visitors to the landfill wear face coverings at all times, as is directed by state order, and maintain social distancing. These practices will protect you and the staff working diligently to offer you this service during this state-of-emergency.

If you do not have a sticker, you can fill out a request form here. Please be advised that current trash bills must be paid to get a sticker. If you wish to request more than 1 sticker, you will need to submit a separate form.

To best adhere to social distancing and to not exhaust the resources at DPW, we encourage to take advantage of the curbside yard waste collection taking place May 18-30 during their regular trash pick-up day. Routes 1, 2, 3, 9 and 10 will have a yard waste pickup May 18-22. Routes 4, 5, 6, 7, is 8 will have a pickup May 26-30.

The DPW is working diligently to formulate a plan to reopen the transfer station. We anticipate re-opening the transfer station in early July 2020. You are encouraged to sign-up for Civic Ready here to receive automated phone updates.
