Annual Town Election Reminders 2023

Residents must be registered to vote in South Hadley by 5:00pm on Friday, March 31, 2023 to be eligible to vote in the local election. Residents may check or update their voter registration online at https://www.sec.state.ma.us/OVR/.  You may also mail in a voter registration form to 116 Main St, or visit the Town Clerk's Office in person.

Ways to vote in the 2023 Annual Town Election:

Vote by mail: To receive your ballot by mail, you must complete and sign the vote by mail application and return it to the Town Clerk's Office by 5:00pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Vote by mail applications are good for one calendar year.

Accessible vote by mail:  Voters with visual or mobility impairments that make it difficult or impossible to fill out a paper ballot without assistance may request an Accessible Vote by Mail ballot. You must complete and return the accessible vote by mail application and return it to the Town Clerk's Office by 5:00pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Once the application is received, further instructions will be emailed.

Absentee by mail or in Town Clerk's Office: Absentee voting requires registered voters to have a specific reason in order to vote absentee (Click here for more details). You must complete and return the absentee ballot application to the Town Clerk's Office. Please note: to become a permanent absentee voter, we require a letter on physician's letterhead stating the person is unable to appear in person at the polls or to that effect filed with the Town Clerk's office. 

In person: You may vote in person on Election Day at the South Hadley High School located at 153 Newton St. Polls are open from 7:00am to 8:00pm.
